A 66-year-old Villager was arrested Sunday night when he was found in his BMW with a bottle of vodka at the Village of Amelia postal station.

Vincent Andrew White of Kay Terrace was found at 11 p.m. by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy. White admitted to the deputy he had been drinking and had been at the postal station for about two hours after he had been in a fight with his wife and needed to get away. When asked if he had any alcohol, White handed the deputy a 1.75-liter bottle of Fleishmann’s Royal Vodka.

He refused to perform field sobriety tests, telling the deputy, “I drank, I’m not going to be able to pass.”

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
