A 59-year-old resident of the Cottages of Summerchase in The Villages was being held this weekend without bond at the Lake County Jail.
Paulette Akers Fleischman is facing multiple probation violations in Lake County.
She had been arrested this past August after her husband was treated for a cut to the arm at The Villages Regional Hospital. When Sumter County sheriff’s deputies arrived at their home in Fair Oaks Terrace, Fleischman admitted to a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy that she had cut her husband with a chef’s knife, according to an arrest report. She showed the deputy the knife she had used. It still had blood on the blade, the arrest report indicated. She had reportedly become enraged after her husband knocked a picture of her deceased son off a dresser.
Fleischmann was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery. She was already on probation after being convicted on a charge of exploitation of the elderly.
On Feb. 13 in Sumter County Court, Fleischman pleaded no contest in the case. She was placed on five years probation.
On Feb. 16, she was transferred from the Sumter County Detention Center to the Lake County Jail to face charges of violating her probation in that county.
