A 45-year-old Villager has pleaded not guilty in South Dakota to charges of having sex with a minor.

Tony Haglund of the Village of Glenbrook made his first court appearance in Lincoln County, S.D. this week on a five-count indictment that could put him in prison for up to 50 years.

The former pastor is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl, who was a member of his congregation at a Lutheran Church in Canton, S.D. between 2011 and 2013.

Haglund, who works as a ReMax agent in The Villages, was arrested earlier this month by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on a fugitive from justice warrant.

The judge in the case reduced bail to $50,000.

Lincoln County State’s Attorney Tom Wollman had asked the judge to keep bail for Haglund at a $500,000 because he says he poses a danger to the community.
