Villager who survived year in concentration camp to share his story of the Holocaust

Jill and Gene Klein in 2015 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center.

A Villager who survived a year in concentration camps during World War II will share his story of the Holocaust.

Gene Klein, a resident of the Village of Duval, will speak at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Allamanda Recreation Center. He will be addressing the American Association of University Women.

Klein will be accompanied by his daughter, Jill, who is the author of a book about her father’s experience.

Klein lost his father in the concentration camp, but he, his mother and sisters survived.

Jill Klein traces the family’s journey through the camps in a book that took her 15 years to write.

Gene Klein was the youngest child in his family. His father died in the camp.

The last time she and her father spoke in The Villages in 2015, they packed Colony Cottage Recreation Center.
