A Villager was ticketed in an accident Monday morning that sent another man to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
George James DesJardins, 32, of Belleview, was transported to ORMC as a trauma alert patient following the accident at 9:15 a.m. at Buena Vista Boulevard and Parr Drive near Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
DesJardins had been southbound on Buena Vista Boulevard in a 1997 Chevy Blazer when 67-year-old Villager Wayne Melvin Wells driving a 2012 Buick LaCrosse entered the intersection from a westerly direction on Parr Drive, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The front of Wells’ vehicle struck the Chevy Blazer which overturned after its right rear tire hit the curb of the median.
Wells told a FHP investigator he had failed to observe DesJardins’ Chevy Blazer in the roadway, the accident report indicated.
Wells, who was not injured, was ticketed on a charge of running a stop sign.
DesJardins was cited for no proof of insurance.
