Villager transported to TVRH following accident

A Villager was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital following an accident at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and County Road 466A.

The Villager, whose name was not released, was driving north on Morse Boulevard and had a green light, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A Leesburg driver in a westbound vehicle ran a red light on County Road 466A, causing the collision between the two vehicles.

The Leesburg driver was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Injuries to both drivers were minor, the sheriff’s office indicated.
