Villager wins Naples EC-12 Regatta, event this weekend in Villages

Villager Alan Perkins won the Naples EC-12 Regatta held this past weekend in near perfect conditions at North Collier Regional Park in Naples.

Seventeen racers took part in 34 heats at the event.

Racers will be traveling to The Villages this weekend to compete in the next round of radio-controlled boat races.

A regatta will be held Saturday and Sunday at Ashland Pond located behind the pool at Lynnhaven Lane and Ellison Place.  There will be approximately 36 participants on site for this regatta.  Parking will be limited and carpooling or traveling by golf cart is encouraged.

The public is invited to come out and watch.
