Villagers cycling across country to raise money for Hope For Warriors

Village of Del Mar residents Bill Bellew and Clayton Smith have embarked on a 3,000 mile bicycle trip across the United States from Malibu, Calif. to Jacksonville, Fla.

They are part of a team of eight Floridians riding to benefit “Hope for Warriors.”

Bellew is a multiple Ironman Finisher, and all around fitness nut, but has more recently focused on long distance rides for charities and personal achievement. Those accomplishments along with his Special Forces Military experience enables him to bring his discipline, strength, and level-headed team approach to all that he does.

Smith is the SAG driver for the team. He is a Navy veteran, cyclist and retired policeman.
