A Villager’s son has been ordered to undergo anger management training as the result of a bat-swinging clash this past summer with a Villager who had been walking his dog.

Brian Keith Caban, 45, who resides in the Village of Springdale with his father, had been arrested this past July on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Caban had gotten into a dispute with a Villager, who happens to be a retired sheriff, in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church in the Marion County portion of The Villages. The dispute had been over their dogs. Caban yelled a threat at the retired sheriff and then returned in a golf cart with a bat. You can read more about the original arrest HERE

On Jan. 9 in Marion County Court, Caban entered a plea of no contest in the case. He was ordered to complete a 10-week anger management course and was placed on two years probation. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim and to stay away from the location of the incident.
