Villagers for Veterans putting on event to help woman injured in Afghanistan

The Villagers for Veterans have another opportunity for Villages residents to have a good time while supporting a good cause. On Thursday, June 16 at Lake Miona Recreation Center they are hosting a dance. The band No Regrets will be playing classic rock from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10. The event is BYOB/BYOS.

The purpose of this fund-raiser is to raise the final amount needed to present Spc. Kat Hernandez with a Zoom chair. Villagers for Veterans recently held an Orchid Gala and raised a significant amount of the more than $15,000 needed to purchase the Zoom chair.

Another $3,000 is needed and Marie Bogdonoff, president of Villagers for Veterans, is hoping to raise the rest with ticket sales for this dance.

“We really hope we are able to present the Zoom chair to Kat the night of the dance,” said Bogdonoff.
