A Villager’s wallet was stolen from the men’s changing room at the Lake Miona Recreation Center swimming pool.

The Villager’s credit card was used within about 15 minutes of his wallet being stolen at about 3 p.m. Friday, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

His driver’s license, Medicare card and Citizens First Bank debit card were found in the parking lot at Rural King at Leesburg. They were turned into the store’s customer service desk and the Villager was able to reclaim them.

On March 2, a wallet belonging to a Village of Alhambra man was stolen from the swimming pool at Mulberry Grove Recreation Center. The wallet was stolen between 10:10 and 10:36 a.m. that day and that same evening, someone attempted to use the 73-year-old Villager’s credit card at the Sunoco station at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 441 and SE Hwy. 42 just outside The Villages.
