Villagers warned of scam email involving Comcast customers

Villagers should be on the lookout for emails that appear to be from Comcast asking for personal information.

It’s not from Comcast. It’s a scam.

Some Villagers have reported receiving email notices from an organization claiming to be Comcast.

The email claims the customer’s last payment did not go through and tries to lure the customer into clicking a link in the email to update all account information.

Don’t do it.

Stephen Renico who heads Seniors vs. Crime in The Villages received such an email.

He called Comcast and was told it was a scam.

The Comcast representative reminded him that an email from Comcast would have a small black “c” surrounded by a larger red “c.”
