A new light-industrial warehouse to be located just off a busy section of Rolling Acres Road has won approval from the Lady Lake Planning & Zoning Board.

The Villages Operating Co. sought approval for a warehouse to be located on a .46 acre parcel of land in the Duke Lake Road complex off Rolling Acres Road and just south of Villages Elementary of Lady Lake. The parcel was originally part of the boundaries of the Village Center Community Development District Wastewater Treatment Plant and now sits vacant.

Martin Dzuro, representing the Villages Operating Co., told Lady Lake Planning & Zoning the warehouse, to be constructed this year, would house a light industrial carpentry and wood working operation. The facility will be constructed this year.

Lady Lake Planning & Zoning Board members were told that impact on traffic would be minimal.

According to a traffic study, the 4,445-square-foot building would only generate eight trips during the p.m. peak hour, two entering and six exiting.

The Duck Lake Road complex on the west side of Rolling Acres Road includes the Daily Sun production facility, Massey Services and Fort Knox Storage, among other businesses.
