Villages Parrot Heads deliver cash, school supplies at Wildwood Middle High School

Wildwood Middle High School was presented cash and school supplies totaling $7,700 on Wednesday, just in time for the beginning of the school year which was the following day.

The “Help Us Help Kids” drive during the month of July by the Villages Parrot Heads, chaired by Renie Larson and Marsha Herring, retired teachers, impressed Principal Richard Hampton and his staff of teachers. The teachers had submitted lists of school supplies which they most needed, and the donations from the Parrot Heads will go a long way to fulfilling those needs. Larson and Herring were so pleased by the response of club and community members that they are considering repeating the fundraiser next year.

“Under Principal Hampton’s leadership, the Wildwood Middle High School is steadily improving, which is great news for the future of the area,” said Bob O’Neal, media trustee for the Parrot Heads.
