The Villages Pops Chorus was started in December of 2013 and the members met for their first rehearsal in early January, 2014. The group is dedicated to singing choral arrangements of popular music of all genres. In their first two concerts in April and August, both held at North Lake Presbyterian Church, the chorus sang to more than 950 audience members at each concert.
Because of the overwhelming audience support, the group has been able to donate $5,000 to a number of charities. Recipients have included North Lake Presbyterian, Deliver the Difference, New Visions for Independence, Dreams for Seniors, and the music program at the Florida State School for the Deaf and the Blind.  Proceeds from the upcoming Holiday Concert on Dec. 8 will also be donated to local charities.
