Villages preps for arrival of Hurricane Matthew

Pool furniture was being put away and gate arms came down as The Villages prepared for the anticipated arrival of Hurricane Matthew.
The District Office has announced several closures:
• The District Customer Service Center and all District Administrative offices will be closed on Friday. This closure impacts Customer Service, Administration, Recreation, Community Watch Administration, Finance, Community Standards, Human Resources and all other District departments.

• All outdoor Recreation Facilities, including swimming pools, will remain closed all day Friday. They will not re-open until it has been determined that the area and facility is safe for operation by The Villages Public Safety Department or other appropriate agencies.
• All Recreation Centers will remain closed through Friday.
• All Executive Golf Courses will be closed on Friday.
