Villages Public Safety Department investigates report of smoke at Spanish Springs store

The Villages Public Safety Department was called Saturday evening to investigate a report of smoke at a retailer at Spanish Springs Town Square.

Firefighters responded at about 7:30 p.m. to Tervis Tumbler at 1109 Main St.

Community Watch also responded to the scene along with Lady Lake police to block traffic during the smoke investigation.

The Justin Heet Band was performing at the Gazebo, and the investigation did not disrupt the evening’s entertainment.

In August, firefighters were called to Katie Belle’s to investigate a smoke complaint after an air conditioning unit malfunctioned. Rocky and the Rollers had been performing and were among those that had to evacuate.
