During the early years of the The Villages Voices Chorus, the singers would often open concerts with a rousing version of “Hi Neighbor.”
Well, 20 years later, the VVC is still going strong. The 130 members will sing “Hi Neighbor” once more on Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March at 6 p.m. in the North Lake Presbyterian Church.
Dr. John T. Lowe will conduct the Chorus, accompanied by Sean Pollock. Also, the concert will feature a premier of “High Flight,” by David L. Brunner, which was commissioned especially for the Chorus’ 20th Anniversary season.

Among those performing include four members of the original chorus who sang in 1997. They are  Wayne Cunkelman, Cindy Poet, Jan Symicek and Rollie Symicek.
Among the selections to be performed: “Salute to the Armed Forces,” “Gershwin Melody” and a version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”
