A Villager who suffered a head injury was transported from the scene of a golf cart accident shortly after 2 p.m. Monday on the Laurel Manor Trail.
She was transported from the scene by Rural Metro/Ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was on site investigating the accident.
The accident occurred on the Laurel Manor Trail, the multi-modal path that runs parallel to County Road 466. Her golf cart was the only one involved.
The woman’s name was not immediately available.
With snowbirds returning and golf cart traffic on the increase, local officials are stressing golf cart safety.
