Golf carts abusing handicap parking spaces

To the Editor:

It is quite often I see motor vehicles in handicap spaces without a official tag/plate or a hanging mirror tag.
Then I hold issue with a golf cart in these spaces. Some also use the mirror tag which was issued to a person when using their car, truck or other registered motor vehicles.
The Florida Motor Vehicle Code explains that the handicap space could be used if the person the accommodation was issued to is in the motor vehicle. A golf cart is not registered motor vehicle. Therefore cannot utilize the handicap space. As I understand the law.
How many citations, for misusing the spaces, were issued in the three county’s in the last six months
