Chester Copley Jr., age 80, of The Villages, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Mr. Copley was born August 6, 1936, an only child, in Inez, KY. The family moved to Ypsilanti, MI in 1943. Chester graduated from Belleville H.S. in 1955. Chester served in the Army National Guard of MI for 3 yrs. honorably discharged, March 1957. Chester married his lifelong friend and love, Kathline K. Dawson, April 1957. Mr. Copley joined the Ypsilanti Township Fire Department in February 1957, retired as Captain and EMT, February 1982, completing 25 years of service. While working as EMT he had the opportunity to deliver a healthy baby at the parent’s home. The highlight of Chester’s life was when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1965. He served faithfully as a Deacon at several churches, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. His life verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Philippians 4:13. Mr. Copley Jr. is preceded in death by his Father, Chester Copley, Sr. (1990) and Belva Mae Horne (1991). He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathline K. Dawson; four Children, son Kevin M., son Kirk A. his wife Pam, daughter Cheryl A, her husband Michael E. McDaniel, son Keith his wife Angie. Chester’s family included 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his friendly smile and love for his family and friends. The family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 15, 2016, 11 a.m., held at Tri County Baptist Church, 38405 Rolling Acres Rd., Lady Lake, FL 32159.
