Virginia E. Stephenson

Virginia E. Stephenson of Leesburg, Florida was born on February 6, 1920 in Newport News, Virginia. She passed away on Saturday February 21, 2015. The family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1924. Virginia received her education in Chattanooga graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1938 and was a member of The National Honor Society. She attended the Edmondson School of Business. After moving to Clyde, North Carolina, she married Warren Stephenson in 1976. They moved to Leesburg, Florida in 1985. Warren and Virginia were very active in many churches along the way in Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida. They loved serving the Lord together especially working with senior adults. Founding a Senior Group they named “Triple L” (Living like the Lord) at Eagles Nest Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida, they developed a ministry that became very successful and a blessing to all who attended.
Virginia is preceded in death by first husband, James C. Smith, Sr. and son James C. Smith, Jr. (Dorothy). Her husband of 29 years, Warren Harding Stephenson went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2005. She is survived by stepson Charles Stephenson and stepdaughter Jean McCracken. Three grandchildren, Karen, Hugh and Shaun, four step grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her church membership is at Central Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida. Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, Florida on Monday, March, 2 2015 at 11 a.m.
