Virginia May Lindsey

Virginia Mae Lindsey, 102, of Leesburg, FL, passed away during the morning of Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the North Campus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Leesburg, Florida. Born March 16, 1915 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Theodore Ellis McKee and Viola Bennett McKee, who later moved to Orlando, FL.

An honor graduate of New Castle High School, Virginia moved to Florida in 1958 where she worked in several department stores; finally working for Ivey’s Department Store of Orlando and Winter Park for twenty years, before retiring in 1982.

Virginia enjoyed her family and friends, computer, reading, painting, dancing, poetry, organ, crocheting and travel. Virginia was a long-time member of Victory Baptist Church of Eustis, FL.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and three husbands – Franklin C. Weatherby, Frank Delano, and Lewis E. Lindsey. Her beloved son, Wayne L. Weatherby and his loving wife, Diana, of New Castle, PA, were called home to our Lord in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Her good friend, Gilbert Sybert and her brother, William C. McKee of Lake Worth, FL (2013) also preceded her passing.

Virginia is survived by her beloved grandaughter Michelle Weatherby Conard and her husband, Shirl Wayne Conard, of Pittsburgh, PA. And in Florida, many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church — Victory Baptist Church, 1309 County Road 452, Eustis, FL 32726.
