A former Gator’s Dockside waitress with a criminal history has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison for double-billing customers at the Spanish Springs Town Square restaurant.

Georgianna Antich, 35, of Belleview was sentenced Oct. 18 in Lake County Court after pleading no contest to multiple charges of fraud.

Customers had started returning to the restaurant after noticing they had been billed twice for their meals. A manager refunded the customers and tracked the transactions to Antich. She was confronted by the manager and terminated.

Antich would have one table that paid cash and another that paid with a credit card. She would keep the cash and used the credit card to pay the other diner’s check. She would also add a tip for herself on the additional bill paid with the credit card. The tip was paid to Antich at the end of her shift, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The thefts totaled $282.22.

A warrant was obtained for Antich’s arrest and she was tracked down in March in the Marion County Jail.

She has three previous theft convictions, in 2008, 2013 and 2014. You can read more about one of those cases HERE
