A 64-year-old Water Oak woman will avoid prosecution for slapping her husband after agreeing to a deal in Lake County Court.
Sally Ann Vonfrick had been arrested June 21 on a charge of battery.
She had been drinking on the night of the incident in which she slapped his face several times and scratched his arm, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. When she poked him in the stomach with the bat, he took it away from her and threw it in the lake behind their house on Maple Drive in Water Oak. Her husband was trying to leave their home and go to another home they own to get away from her for the night.
This past week, Vonfrick agreed to enter into a pre-trial diversion program which calls for her to undergo mental health and alcohol evaluation. She can also have only email contact with her husband. If she successfully completes the terms of the agreement, the case will be dismissed.
She was represented by attorney Jaimie Washo.
