A 77-year-old Water Oak man arrested last month after allegedly attacking a man with a golf club has gotten a big break in his court case.
Michael A. Pacilio had originally been arrested on a felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly striking an employee of Water Oak Country Club in the face with a golf club. The employee had approached Pacilio to inquire if he had paid for the round of golf. A verbal confrontation erupted and Pacilio “intentionally” struck the other man in the face, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The man suffered fractures to his face and was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.
Pacilio remains free on $10,000 bond.
He has retained Orlando criminal defense attorney Robert Mandell to represent him.
“Robert is a true believer in the best defense is a good offense,” according to the Mandell Law firm’s website.
Mandell was successful earlier this month getting Pacilio’s case bargained down from a felony to a misdemeanor. A plea negotiation conference is set for Nov. 7 in Lake County Court.
