Wawa moves forward on 3-2 vote to grant landscape waivers

Lady Lake commissioners split 3-2 Monday night on landscaping waivers requested for the new Wawa convenience store to be located at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and County Road 466.

Voting in favor of the landscape waivers were Mayor Jim Richards and Commissioners Ruth Kussard and Dan Vincent. Votes against were cast by Commissioners Paul Hannan and Tony Holden.

Other waivers will accommodate to dimensional constraints of connecting sidewalks, outside seating, a loading area and parking spaces abutting the building.

Wawa will preserve two Historic Oak trees on the site.
