Wildwood man arrested after allegedly pulling knife on girlfriend

A 37-year-old Wildwood man is facing felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he became enraged and pulled a knife when he found his girlfriend in bed with someone else.

Valentino Lamont McMullen arrived at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his residence on Sandalwood Drive in Wildwood and “flipped out,” according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

He alleged chased the woman with a knife and threatened to kill her, the arrest report indicated. There were children present during the incident, the arrest report said.

When a deputy arrived on the scene, the deputy pulled his weapon, pointed it at McMullen and ordered McMullen to drop the knife.

McMullen is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery and child neglect.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
