A 55-year-old Wildwood man was arrested after he allegedly held a woman against her will at a motel.

Willie Ebe Wofford Jr. is facing charges of aggravated battery and kidnapping following his arrest at 2:28 a.m. Thursday by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

He had allegedly kept the woman against her will at the Motel 6 in Lake Panasoffkee, according to an arrest report. When the woman tried to leave the motel room, Wofford reportedly pulled her back by her hair. She began screaming and other guests began to step out of their rooms. The woman then went to the front desk and asked the clerk to call 911. The woman had suffered a cut behind her ear, the report indicated.

Wofford was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
