Wildwood man arrested after allegedly shooting out rear window of car driven by 17-year-old

A 25-year-old Wildwood man was arrested last week after allegedly shooting out the rear window of a car driven by a 17-year-old.

Sidney Rivers Williams is facing a charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felony following the incident which took place shortly before noon July 5 on Hence Road in Wildwood.

The teen was driving his mother’s 1999 Toyota when he passed by Williams who was standing by his car in the roadway, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The teen told police that Williams fired at least seven rounds at the vehicle’s rear window. A crime scene technician collected 12 ballistic casings from the location.

The teen identified Williams in a photo lineup.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
