Wildwood man arrested after allegedly striking woman during fight over financial matters

A 32-year-old Wildwood man was arrested after allegedly striking a woman in the mouth during a fight over financial matters.

Gilbert Cadet, is facing a charge of misdemeanor battery following his arrest Tuesday night at residence on NE 2nd Drive in Wildwood.

The woman told a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy that she called the Cadet’s father “a sissy” and that’s when he struck her in the mouth with a closed fist. She said he then grabbed her by the throat.

Cadet was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
