A 28-year-old Wildwood man was being held without bond after he allegedly drugged and had sex with a woman against her will.

The woman had stopped at a Circle K in Webster for gasoline and was drinking a Mountain Dew when she met some men she knew, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

She began to feel woozy and was taken to a residence on County Road 154A in Wildwood. There a man forced himself on her and later injected her with a syringe. When the man fell asleep, she tried to escape but he hit her with a golf club. She was later able to call her mother who alerted law enforcement. A deputy arrived and found the woman running and crying from the residence, wearing only a towel.

The woman was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence of Dustin Carter Mayo. Law enforcement officers found drugs, a golf club and jewelry belonging to the victim.

He was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.

Mayo had been arrested in July near Brownwood Paddock Square. You can read about that arrest HERE. That case is still pending in Sumter County Court.
