Wildwood Winn-Dixie store to close its doors

The Winn Dixie in Wildwood will be closing.

Less than a month after the new Publix opened in Grand Traverse Plaza on State Road 44 in The Villages, it has been announced that the Winn-Dixie in Wildwood will be closing its doors. The two stores are only a few miles apart on State Road 44.

It is one of about 20 Winn-Dixie stores being closed for under-performance. The other stores are located in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina and North Carolina.

The three Winn-Dixie stores in The Villages – located on Bichara Boulevard near Spanish Springs, on Old Camp Road in Lake Sumter Landing and in Pinellas Plaza – are not impacted by the closures.
