A 36-year-old Wildwood woman was arrested after allegedly attacking her estranged live-in boyfriend with a can of freon.

Sophia Latoya Green is facing a third-degree felony charge of battery following her arrest early Tuesday morning by Wildwood police.

The boyfriend, with whom Green has a child, had been involved in a heated argument with Green on Monday night, according to an arrest report from the police department. They had been arguing about the boyfriend talking to another woman. During the argument, Green threw the man’s car keys into the woods.

She later approached him in a vehicle, pulled up right in front of him, got a can of freon out of the trunk and began hitting him on the head with the can. She also ripped his shirt and bit him on the chest, the arrest report indicated.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
