Wildwood woman lands behind bars after allegedly slapping man in the face

A 50-year-old Wildwood woman landed behind bars early Thursday morning after allegedly slapping a man in the face.

Kimberly Anne Tennant was engaged in a verbal altercation with the man “over a family member’s current dilemma” at her home on NW 26th Street, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She then pushed the man and slapped him across the face with her right hand.

She admitted to a deputy that she had slapped the man.

She was taken into custody on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $1,000.

Tennant has no prior criminal record, the report indicated.
