William Alan “Bill” Bailly, 74, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages. He was born on June 13, 1939 in Durango, Colorado. He served 4 years in the Air Force mainly stationed in Japan. He received his BA from Ft. Lewis College in Durango and a Master’s Degree from Colorado State University. After a brief teaching career, he went to work in Intelligence with the Justice Dept in Washington, D.C. and later with the Miami Strike Force. In 1977, he went to work for Miami Dade County in the Organized Crime Bureau serving as their first Civilian Intelligence Analyst. He retired from Miami Dade Police in 2001 and moved to The Villages in 2004. He enjoyed golf, travel, cooking, languages, music, history and humor. He was a member of the Colorado Club, Winifred’s Men Club and Veterans Memorial American Legion Post No. 347. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Danette; and their two feline “kids,” Biff and Bruno. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, FL with committal service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
