William “Bill” Landis, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 70. Bill was born to Wilbur Landis and Rosa Johnson on April 15, 1947 in Berlin, Germany.

As a young man he served his country proud as an officer in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed many things in life that included golf, softball, watching and supporting the University of Kansas sports teams as a former graduate, art, painting, and occasionally illustrating for local newspapers. But most of all Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 49 years; son, Chad (Anna) Landis; step-father, Max Johnson and too many nieces, nephews and extended friends and family to count including some in Austria. Bill is preceded in death by his mother Rosa K Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages on August 14, 2017 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Cancer Society or Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, Florida.
