William Henry Steinbrenner

William Henry Steinbrenner, 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away on April 15, 2017. Bill was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH in 1957. He retired after long careers from Prudential Bache, Securities and First Albany Corporation. He lived for extended periods of time in Erie, PA, Alexandria, VA, Toronto, Canada, and Derby, NY before his final residence in The Villages. Bill had a lifelong interest in sailing enjoying many hours on Lake Erie. Other interests included reading and collecting books as well as traveling. He was a founding member of the Rotary Club of The Villages-Noon. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Henry Steinbrenner, Sr. and his mother, Margaret McDougald Steinbrenner. He is survived by his wife, Mary Steinbrenner; his daughters, Kathryn Steinbrenner (Brad) Hayes of New Castle, IN, and Amy Steinbrenner (John) Rarick of Marietta, GA; and a son, William “Bill” (Julie) Steinbrenner of Derby, NY. Additional survivors include three step-children; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A private funeral will be held at a later date.
