Pick an adjective. Irreverent, vulgar, lewd or crude. Add some nudity, sex and bacchanalian parties that would have made censors of years gone by throw the “X” flag quicker than a clip on a kick off return and you have the essence of the Martin Scorsese Directed and Leonardo DiCaprio starring movie about crime and corruption on Wall Street. A semi biographical story of the rags to riches life of Wall Street entrepreneur Jordan Belforth and his wealth at all cost manipulation of the stock market and the people who he defrauded on his rise to wealth and power. It is the story of depravity, success and lifestyles devoid of inhibitions or morality. It is well acted, candid to a gasping fault and scripted with a vocabulary that would make a longshoreman blush. Its very audacity and naked (no pun intended) visualization of a Jimmy Jones fanaticism to succeed at all costs may well earn the movie peer recognition and theatrical awards. Rating: “DNFE” Definitely Not For Everyone.
