Woman arrested after her vehicle strikes and kills pedestrian in Marion County

A 32-year-old Reddick woman is facing a charge of DUI Manslaughter after her vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday morning in Marion County.

Timothy Jeremiah Taylor, 42, of Anthony, had been walking along the shoulder on U.S. 441 just north of County 327 when he was hit by a 2007 Hyundai Sonota driven by Deandra Latron Stone, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue. Stone allegedly tried to continue to drive away but was stopped by bystanders, the report indicated.

A warrant was obtained and a blood sample was drawn from Stone which showed she was under the influence of drugs, according to the report.
