Woman arrested after fraudulently obtaining gift cards at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza

A 30-year-old woman was taken into custody after she was tracked down after allegedly fraudulently obtaining gift cards in September at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.

Kathy Elizabeth Hall of Lake Panasoffkee entered the store on Sept. 22 and 24, took items and then returned them for gift cards in the total amount of $212.94, according to arrest reports from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The incidents had been captured on the store’s video surveillance system.

Hall was tracked down Tuesday afternoon at the Economy Inn in Wildwood. She was arrested on two counts of theft and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
