A 32-year-old woman who was arrested Wednesday afternoon at her home in The Villages admitted she has been stealing from Wal-Mart “almost on a daily basis.”
A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of Jessica Loren Hall at her home on San Marino Drive by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.
She is suspected in the theft of items on Aug. 10 and 12 at the Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.
Hall had been captured on surveillance at the store and later getting into a black four-door Mercury.
She told deputies she had been stealing to support her heroin habit.
Hall added she has been stealing from Wal-Mart “for a long time,” according to an arrest report.
She was arrested on two counts of theft and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
She had previously been convicted of theft in 2004 in Memphis, Tenn.
