Woman arrested on disorderly intoxication charge after disturbance

A 35-year-old woman was arrested by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies after causing a disturbance.

The sheriff’s office was called at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to County Road 213 in Wildwood where Lakisha Michelle Hendrix, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated,  was yelling at another individual, according to the arrest report. Hendrix then attempted to charge past the deputy at the other individual.

When the deputy attempted to put handcuffs on Hendrix, she pulled her hands away several times, the arrest report indicated.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer. Bond was set at $2,000.
