A woman who was involved in a crash last year and tried to use her sister’s name rather than her own, has landed back behind bars.
Amber Marie Pheil, 28, of Ocala, had been at the wheel of a car involved in an accident on Sept. 14 at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Griffin Avenue in Lady Lake. She told the police officer investigating the accident she didn’t have her driver’s license with her and gave the officer the name of her 26-year-old sister. The next day, the sister called police to report that Pheil had given them a false name. An officer telephoned Pheil who admitted she had provided a false name. She said she did so because her driver’s license had been suspended.
Pheil was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended and providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
This past October in Lake County Court, she was sentenced to probation.
On Friday afternoon, she was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a probation violation. She is being held without bond.
