A 45-year-old Lady Lake woman has been jailed after she allegedly beat up her disabled 66-year-old mother at their home on Gray’s Airport Road.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies went to the home Sunday afternoon after they were alerted by a sister to a disturbance there. The sister told law enforcement that her sister, Rhonda Hadden, was drunk and striking their mother, according to an arrest report. The report indicated Hadden had been drinking for two days and wanted to know where the mother’s jewelry was located.

The mother must use a wheelchair or walker to get around and when she had attempted to dial 911, Hadden tore three phones in the house off the wall, according to the arrest report.

Hadden was arrested on felony charges of battery of a person over the age of 65 and depriving use of 911.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail where bond was set at $5,500.

In 2013, Hadden had been arrested on a charge of child abuse, according to Lake County Jail records.
