Woman jailed last year after drinking at City Fire lands back behind bars

Kaitlyn Marie Ytsma

A woman arrested last year after a night of drinking at City Fire in The Villages has landed back behind bars.

Kaitlyn Marie Ytsma, 24, of Lady Lake, was booked Saturday on an out-of-county warrant at the Marion County Jail.

Last March, she had been spotted driving in the wrong direction in the early morning hours on Odell Circle at the entrance to the Village of Hadley, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, Ytsma was asked if she had been drinking, to which she replied, “I had three beers earlier at City Fire.” She later admitted she’d also had a Green Tea Shot.

She failed field sobriety exercises and later provided breath samples that registered .172 and .169 blood alcohol content. During an inventory of her vehicle, which was being towed from the scene, marijuana was discovered. The deputy also discovered that Ytsma’s driver’s license had been suspended.
