Two people dead as result of weekend motorcycle accident in Pasco County

Two people have died as the result of a weekend motorcycle accident in Pasco County.

Holly Starcia Rich of Spring Hill had been riding as a passenger at 4:51 p.m. Sunday on a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle driven by 44-year-old Anthony Joseph Pilotti, also of Spring Hill, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

They had been traveling on State Road 52 near Moon Lake Road when Pilotti failed to properly negotiate a curve and struck a raised center median, knocking both of them from the motorcycle.

Rich died at the scene of the accident. Pilotti was transported to Bayonet Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Neither of them had been wearing helmets, the FHP report noted.
