A 56-year-old Wildwood woman who overdosed Monday night was arrested after her release from The Villages Regional Hospital.

Emergency personnel were called to the 400 block of Jackson Street where they found Lynnette B. Williams who was barely conscious, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Paramedics placed Williams in the back of an ambulance where they administered a Narcan injection to reverse the effects of the overdose. Williams sat up and became immediately coherent, the report indicated.

She had been wearing a hair wrap and a Ziploc bag containing powdered cocaine fell from the wrap.

She was transported to TVRH for followup treatment. She was booked Tuesday afternoon at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of cocaine possession. Bond was set at $2,000.
