Woman reports rented Jeep Cherokee’s tires were slashed at her home in Ocala

A rented Jeep Cherokee’s tires were reportedly slashed at a woman’s home in Ocala.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence located on Bahia Court in reference to a report of criminal mischief, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim, who advised that she parked her 2017 white Jeep Grand Cherokee at her residence around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, the report stated. The next morning at 6 a.m., she found that two of the passengers’ side tires had been “slashed.”

The victim stated that the vehicle is a rental car from Enterprise, but she did not purchase the insurance. She then told the deputy that she was being advised that she would be responsible for the damage. The vehicle was parked next to the road and its tires were valued at $200 each.
