Woman transported to Leesburg hospital after golf cart overturns

A woman was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center after her golf cart overturned Monday afternoon off Buena Vista Boulevard.

The woman had been driving the golf cart at 3:15 p.m. on the golf cart path near Buena Vista Boulevard and Old Mill Run and was looking through her purse when the golf cart left the path and overturned, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman suffered an injury to her ankle.
